About our roots
Rotho's tradition is firmly rooted in the entrepreneurial spirit of Robert Thoma, who in 1889 invested in his own hydroelectric power station to generate energy, which enabled him to set up a small production of small pieces of furniture, slicers and similar items made of wood. Our current vegetable slicer made of plastic and steel blade is the oldest and practically unchanged product that Rotho has had in its assortment since 1955.
For decades, our company has been rooted in its headquarter in Würenlingen, Switzerland. At the same time, we operate internationally and are constantly adapting our products to the needs of consumers in different countries.
We produce in Würenlingen and Koszalin, thus guaranteeing shorter transportation routes to our customers. Even if a product is manufactured outside Switzerland, we do so with the same quality awareness and using the same raw materials.
Swissness is an attitude that is practiced by all of our approximately 700 employees. Swiss roots and a global perspective characterize our culture. This is the basis for our success at home and abroad.
